The data from Martin et al. comparing beer in standard kegs and plastic microkegs was adapted for ultra-high gravity beer in microkegs. The data compares 30L steel vs. 30L plastic kegs that are filled and shipped within 100km of the brewery in Europe. It further assumes that the steel kegs are reused 80 times and that both types of kegs are recycled at the end of their lifetime. The savings will vary by market and average distances the beer is shipped.
